TimeSheets
require employees to
manually fill in a form indicating times and projects worked.
PC
based systems are similar but do not utilize a web
browser. Employees record their time, which can be verified with
server, on a Windows based workstation that is linked to the
host PC. Multiple job tracking levels can be recorded.
Web
based systems allow employees to log in from their
desks or remote locations over an Internet or Intranet web
browser. A browser-based interface allows employees to enter
time, assign department, job, project or other cost category,
review hours, approve timesheets, schedules and activities on
line.
Telephone
based systems
utilize any touch tone phone to record time and project
activity.
Mobile scanners are typically used in the
field to record employee ID, time and jobs. A bar code
listing of current employee ID's and tasks are scanned and
the information is downloaded at the end of the day by
modem to the office for payroll processing and labor
distribution reports. |
